REINS Website Credits
This latest version of the REINS website uses a Content Management System (CMS) called Joomla!, which gives REINS staff members the freedom to update the contents that appear on the site through a web browser. Joomla!, and many other applications like it, are Open Source projects. This means the software is available free of many of the licensing fees and restrictions on its use that normally limit users of proprietary products. The development of the software is provided by a core group of dedicated programmers who are supported in part through donations. Additionally, this website uses a number of extensions which were developed independently by folks who wanted to contribute and add extra functionality to Joomla!
While there are a number of ways in which you can help support the activities and growth of REINS more directly, we'd like to encourage you to consider making a small donation to OpenSourceMatters, the foundation which supports the continued development of the Joomla! CMS. A link is provided below. Also, links to some of the major extensions installed are listed on this page, as a way of acknowledging their developers and as a way of saying 'thanks' for helping REINS bring you more information through our new website. (All links open in new windows.)
- Phoca Gallery
- JEvents Calendar
- Angie Randtke and Robert Deutz, who developed the BEEZ template on which the REINS website design is partly based.
